Scan Body/Abutment – these are used to avoid Open and Closed Tray traditional ANALOGS impressions. They register a digital Impression of the location of the Implant. This product is preformed and made from Peek. Peek is the most common plastic material to make temporary crowns; therefore this a dual purpose scan body and temporary/provisional abutment.
Temporary Abutments are commonly made after the Impression is made. An impression is taken to make a final crown/prosthesis which can take a few weeks and that is why a Temporary or also know as provisional is needed.
